This movie was fantastic. I loved the witty dialogue. I loved that there were pieces of my own family that I recognized. I loved the complexity of the story. Basically, I loved it.
Ellen Burstyn will hopefully be nominated for best supporting actress for this next year. She was perfect and in many ways reminded me of my own grandma (whom I love dearly). Equally the screenplay was expertly written. It may be a bit too raw for some people’s tastes. It explores how divorce affects a family in a very real way. It explores mental disorder in a sometimes comedic but honest way, and it explores the family dynamic in ways that will make anyone rethink how they treat and are treated by those who are closest to them. (5 out of 5).
