Old Cats: Lethargic Descent into Senility

If you’ve seen “The Maid” by the same director (which is a great film), then you understand the mood you are getting yourself into. The main character is Isadora, who is getting old and forgetful. Played perfectly by Belgica Castro, Isadora’s daughter is trying to get her mother to agree to sign over her apartment to her in exchange for help finding one that will fit help her bad hips, and fleeting mind. To be honest, I fell asleep and apparently missed the visit of her son and grandchild. I’m not old enough to fully appreciate this intimate a view of old age. I appreciate the filmmaker’s vision and craft and the acting, and the chance for a quick nap during a demanding Sundance schedule. (3 out of 5).
