Sundance screening: Lost Kisses
Just saw the Italian film Lost Kisses. The consensus is not great. The lead (a new discovery) is charismatic and manages to carry a film that doesn't know whether it wants to channel Almodovar or social realism. I gave it two stars. The opening scene, done from the point of view of a rather tacky Virgin Mary statue at her unveiling, is truly wonderful. After that, we get a disjointed mess.
